1959 Triumph TR3A

Current Description: Why does our TR have a speedometer in Kilometers/Hour, but is a left hand drive? We found out through the BMIHT certificate that the car was originally sold in Italy! We have no idea how the car got to the west coast of the US. The previous owner of over 25 years had rebuilt the engine, front end and seats, repainted the car and replaced all the rubber in the car, but rewired it with a homemade harness (probably better than when new, but not very original.) After doing all this work, the car was covered up in a garage and hardly used. When we bought it, it had only 500 miles since the overhaul almost 10 years earlier. It still looks good and runs excellent. It makes frequent trips around the Santa Barbara area when the weather is nice (which is most of the year!)
