In 1977 my friend and I pushed home a navy blue '66 Spitfire Mk3. I was a high school junior in New Hampshire and had just bought it for $265. The seats were dragging on the pavement (since there were no floors), it had no roof and a green door. The look on my mother's face was priceless. I spent the next couple years restoring the car and drove it to high school graduation. Nearly a quarter century later, the british virus has resurfaced. After convincing my wife this acquisition was good for the kids, the dog and our marriage, I bought a green '67 TR4A. My family and I now live in Charlotte, North Carolina. The weather and the tree lined streets are great for british sports cars. I'm able to drive it in all seasons and there's not a pothole to be found. It low mileage and low abuse and runs so much better and stronger than the Spitfire. The best part is that this one starts each time (knock on the wood dashboard). If you're in the area, look me up.
