1959 Triumph TR3A TRuck

Commission #: TS55555L
Manufactured:
Owned since:
Status: Nice Beer TRuck

Attached find the picture of the "TR-uck". This is a TR3a, commission #TS 55555L. (Not a good lottery number?) I found this car in the middle of New Jersey. I had made a wrong turn trying to get to my hotel. In turning the corner at a stop sign I saw this thing sitting under a tarp. It was fitted with a Pinto engine and Oldsmobile Rocket taillights out of the 50s. Just couldn't live without it, so I brought it home and three of us invested in it, converted it back to Triumph motor and put TR4 taillights on it. It debuted in different forms at a couple of big Triumph events. Dressed as a "Fire TR-uck" at a TRF summer picnic it put an end to the annual squirt gun battles. It became "The Big Squirter" utilizing an old brass bucket pump and a modified nozzle from a garden sprayer. The effectiveness of this was only one step under pressure washer. At the 40-year anniversary of the "Triumph Sports" celebration at mid-Ohio in '92, it debuted as a "Tow TR-uck". The pick-up bed is just the perfect size to serve as a large cooler and is substantial enough to hold a lot of ice. The primary function of this vehicle could be considered "Beer TR-uck". Hopefully in the future it may get dressed up as a "Woody Wagon" and cruise the beaches aka "Surfbooard Transporter".
